An automobile firm is to open a new dealership in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, to house and service a range of vehicles, including motorhomes.

Local motorhome insurance policyholders will soon be able to browse through the vehicles at their leisure when the Renault and Peugeot facility opens in November.

The £3 million showroom in Deighton will be home to 300 new and used cars, creating around 80 jobs, the Huddersfield Daily Examiner reports.

Announced by the Arnold Clark Group, the facility will include a separate building for servicing of commercial vehicles and motorhomes.

The main part of the development will feature a sales area, an extended parts department, eight service bays and an MOT bay.

Sir Arnold Clark, chairman and chief executive of Arnold Clark Automobiles, credited everyone who has been involved in the project, adding: "I am looking forward to the opening in November."

The firm recently said it would create 120 modern apprentices places and 80 supporting roles within the north of England to help strengthen the company and the motor industry as a whole.
