The Filey Brigg Caravan Park may soon get a makeover as local councillors consider how it can be updated, it has been reported.
Scarborough Tourism chiefs are looking into how they can improve the site's facilities following a recent spate of complaints, claims the Filey Mercury.
Caravan insurance customers may have been among the holidaymakers who wrote a series of letters to the Mercury expressing their concern about the park's shower block and toilets.
A consultation has now opened to discuss how it could be upgraded after local councillors inspecting the site gave it mixed reviews.
Richard Walker said the washrooms were "really clean and tidy" on his visit, while fellow councillor Aileen Newbury said the state of the showers and toilets was "an environmental health issue" and a "health hazard", claims the local newspaper.
One recent review on UKcampsite.co.uk said the park was situated in a great location with beaches and rockpools a short walk away.
Other caravanners and campers noted the reasonable prices and spectacular views but suggested it needed updating.
