Mobile home owners looking to ward off caravan insurance claims by storing their trailers this winter are being offered a new service.

Lingfield Indoor Caravan Storage, based in Darlington in the north-east, is offering mobile home owners a place to house their caravans without having to worry about making caravan insurance claims as a result of theft or vandalism.

The Northern Echo reports that the site will not only provide undercover storage for the vehicles, but also an alarm system, 24-hour security and CCTV coverage.

Managing director of Lingfield Warehousing Julian Brooke commented that he is aware of the issues surrounding winter storage as a caravan owner himself.

Meanwhile, website Police999.com suggests that Britons keep their caravans secure by immobilising them when not in use and looking for a secure storage facility, rather than just focusing on price.
