A caravan and motorhome dealership has shared tips for those making their first foray into the world of mobile accommodation.

While buying a first caravan and enjoying the flexibility it offers is a "rewarding experience", Greentrees Adventure Store says the choice of more than 90 brands can be confusing.

The firm advises caravan insurance customers to think carefully about what they need from their vehicle and narrow down the selection accordingly.

Working out a budget early on and sticking to it is an "imperative", it suggests, as a vehicle that is too large will be less fuel-efficient and could prove too expensive in the long run.

Considering when the caravan will be used is another thing to bear in mind as some models feature insulation and double skin floors, ideal for cold winter trips.

Even once the choice of vehicle is decided on, there is still plenty for newly-converted caravan enthusiasts to think about.

Depending on space, mobile homes can house a variety of appliances and luxuries and can be fully furnished or more minimal.

In addition, while some models may come with security systems as standard, customers should make sure theirs is adequately protected.

Those still unsure about what model they should invest in could contact Greentrees Adventure Store and hire a vehicle for a day or more to see how it fits in with their lifestyle.
