The first day of the International Caravan and Motorhome Show 2009 has proved to be successful for one caravan brand.
Caravan insurance policyholders may have been among those consumers showing an interest in the latest Pegasus offerings from Bailey.
According to the firm's director of marketing, Simon Howard, the model's ten-year bodyshell integrity guarantee has been influential in helping the firm reap better than expected sales on the first day of the event.
He told the show's organisers that the firm picked up a number of orders early on in the day.
"The opening of the show tends to attract the hard-core buyers, and it's the ten-year guarantee that has made the difference," Mr Howard added.
Bailey has devoted its entire stand at the show to the Pegasus offering and also launched a website in advance to provide information about the caravan before the event began.
"So far we've marketed Pegasus using the usual mechanisms, but we have used the Caravan Channel for the first time and it's worked well," Mr Howard went on to say.
Other firms displaying their wares at the show include Airstream, Stealth Caravans and Explorer Group, which has named Elddis as its main brand.
