Eastern England's tourist attractions have been enjoying a surge in popularity in recent months, it has been reported.
Latest figures revealed by the East of England Tourism Body suggest the region has seen more UK visitors arrive for a domestic break than Scotland.
Holidaymakers flocking to East Anglia are believed to have brought a much-needed cash boost of more than £5.2 billion to the local economy.
Responding to the figures, tourism body VisitNorwich's head of marketing Clare Millar, said increasing numbers of Britons had rediscovered the joys of holidaying within the UK.
"We are delighted that our industry has benefited from the silver lining in an economic black cloud," she told the Ipswich Evening Star.
However, Ms Millar also noted that adding up the number of incoming visitors is only "part of the picture" for the region's tourism industry.
While many businesses are lowering rates and entrance fees to encourage recession-hit holidaymakers to visit, owners are also spending more as amenities costs rise.
Caravan insurance customers visiting the region this Halloween could use East of England Tourism's Supernatural East online guide to help them discover the region's wealth of haunted houses and historical horrors.
