Thousands of keen motorhomers paid tribute to the iconic Volkswagen campervan in a special show last weekend, it has been reported.

According to the Express & Star, the camper was the star attraction at the County Showground in Stafford on Sunday (November 1st).

Organisers of the first ever BusFreeze VW Campervan show say the event was a great success, having just signed a three-year contract guaranteeing its return next year.

Caravan insurance customers visiting the show were presented with a range of motorhomes from the traditional to the ultra-modern T5s fitted with plasma screens.

The local news source reports dozens of traders and experts were also in attendance, with demonstrations showing everything from how to revamp interiors through to how to completely strip and rebuild an air-cooled engine.

Co-sponsored by modified motorhome specialist Bluebird Customs, a charity auction raised money for teenage healthcare charity Brad's Cancer Foundation.

Those keen to miss none of the action took the opportunity to stay in a nearby low-priced camping site, laid on by organisers.

Terry Ball, organiser of the BusFreeze show, told the newspaper preparations are already underway for the next VW event in February.
