Caravan insurance customers planning a cross-channel trip may be disappointed to hear about delays to a new ferry route's completion.

The Ramsgate to Boulogne link promised by operator Euroferries has now been delayed, with all customers holding bookings promised a full refund or first-class tickets for another date.

Originally scheduled for completion this Saturday (November 14th), the firm was forced to set back the date due to "hampered final stage operations."

A spokesperson for the firm apologised for any inconvenience caused to passengers and reassured customers the route would be up and running as soon as possible.

Those booked onto this weekend's cancelled crossings will be contacted by email to arrange a refund.

Speaking to local news service This is Kent council leader Sandy Ezekial denied the delays had anything to do with work yet to be done at Ramsgate port.

"The terminal is ready and the dredging is just a two-day job," he explained.

According to Euroferries' website, the route will offer the fastest crossing times available, with passengers arriving in France within 75 minutes.
