Caravan insurance customers have been advised to get Christmas "wrapped-up" while enjoying a seasonal break in Yorkshire.

Membership body The Caravan Club suggests holidaymakers stay at one of its many sites in the north-east to take advantage of the nearby festive fairs.

With two Christmas markets on the way for Yorkshire featuring crafts, seasonal treats and local produce, the club recommends caravanners park their van in the North York Moors National Park and get their seasonal preparations underway.

Families will find plenty to enjoy, say organisers, with children's activities, live music and even an appearance from Father Christmas.

The fairs take place at the Moors National Park Centre in Danby on November 28th and 29th and at Sutton Bank National Park Centre on December 5th and 6th. Entry for both events is free.

Those keen to kick-start their Christmas celebrations in the south-west could stop for a visit at Bath's annual festive market.

Held from November 26th to December 6th in the historic area between the abbey and the Roman Baths, the event will see the city's streets adorned with 123 traditional wooden chalets.
