A Welsh mobile home owner is likely to be making a caravan insurance claim after his vehicle was blown over a wall and into a river, it has been reported.
According to the Daily Post, the freak accident occurred on the A4086 at Afon Nant Peris, Nant Peris Pass, on Friday night.
Despite the Friday 13th date, the three men travelling in the van had a very luck escape, with none suffering from any injuries.
The newspaper claims all three were taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor, and while shaken-up by their experience, all were unscathed.
A North Wales Fire and Rescue spokeswoman told the local news source: "The three men were staying in the caravan in a lay-by on the pass. It was blown over the wall by the wind and into the river below."
Bad weather conditions and a landslide in the area were likely to be behind the incident she added.
Those undeterred by the news and planning a winter getaway may be encouraged to hear caravans may offer a more satisfying holiday than a stay in a hotel.
British cities came out badly in the new 'Reputation Ranking' by hotel comparison site trivago.co.uk, with London scoring lower than any other European city.
