Caravan insurance customers with a passion for diving will be pleased to hear they may not need to take their mobile home far to find some excellent spots to pursue their hobby.
According to membership body the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC), the UK coastline offers water on a par with anywhere else in the world.
Alison Dando, the organisation's membership and marketing manager, said Britain has more than 11,000 miles of shoreline for divers to explore, which "in many ways is its best kept secret".
BSAC, the UK's voice for the snorkelling and diving community, claimed success for its Try Dive campaign that ran throughout September and October and saw more than 700 newcomers sample scuba diving; more than double the attendance for last year's event.
Ms Dando explained the primary attraction of diving is its ability to take people "into a completely new environment of which humans aren't meant to be".
A BSAC poll conducted last year named Scapa Flow in Orkney the Top Dive site in the UK.
Divers visiting the Scottish spot can swim among a fleet of 12 wrecked World War German ships.
