Drivers are being told that they need to improve their skills and should take up training on a regular basis to avoid adding to the statistics on road accidents.
According to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), taking up driving training on a regular basis could prove a useful way to reduce the number of accidents on Britain's roads.
People with caravan insurance may want to take advanced driving lessons more than most because driving with a caravan in tow can be a difficult thing to do, particularly during bad weather.
RoSPA made its announcement following the publication of Scottish figures showing the number of people who had been involved in traffic accidents.
The statistics revealed loss of control was reported as a contributory factor in 36 per cent of fatal accidents recorded in the country during 2008, demonstrating the importance of taking training to improve drivers' abilities.
Meanwhile, motorists have been warned to take extra care during the bad weather that has affected much of Britain in recent weeks.
Strong gales and heavy rain have made driving conditions treacherous in some parts of the country, meaning those travelling with caravans should be particularly careful.
