American film and TV star George Hamilton has declared an evening spent speed-dating in a caravan was one of the best nights of his life.

The actor recently took part in a task for ITV's reality show I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here, which saw him get to know other teammates inside the cosy surroundings of a caravan.

Star of Dynasty, George speed-dated his campmates, before declaring who won the challenge overall.

Boxer Joe Bugner took the win, with the thespian announcing he enjoyed the sportsman's company and his straightforward manner.

"You were to the point and honest. You were to the point and charming, there was a certain directness," George commented.

When producers bussed the mobile home into set, it was hoped the caravan would provide a spot for budding romances to be kindled.

It replaced last year's bus, which failed to help participants find romance.

Caravan insurance policyholders may be aware that George left camp recently, leaving contestants Hollyoaks actor Stuart Manning, Kim Woodburn of How Clean is your House?, celebrity chef Gino D'Acampo, snooker legend Jimmy White and interior designer Justin Ryan battling it out for the jungle crown.
