An avid caravanner might want to make sure he invests in a good caravan insurance policy to cover the valuable art pieces he has packed into his mobile home.
Pig farmer David Pike has made use of an interest-free loan scheme offered by the Arts Council to fund purchases of art from living painters that they would otherwise be unable to afford.
Mr Pike, who lives in a caravan in Wolsingham, County Durham, previously stayed in a period farmhouse.
"Obviously, going from a period farmhouse to a little caravan I've had a limitation of space, but of course I've brought a certain number of things with me and amongst them is one of my favourite pictures," he commented.
Mr Pike bought an image of a man in pain by artist Peter Howsen after losing his partner. He says he can see himself in the picture.
Under the Own Art scheme, launched in 2004, more than 14,500 loans have been taken out by people looking to invest in paintings, valued at around £11.6 million, the BBC reports.
Consumers can borrow between £100 and £2,000 and pay the money back in monthly instalments.
