In news that could be of interest to caravan insurance customers, a website that specialises in caravanning and camping products has updated a section that deals with business advertising.

Camping-and-caravanning.co.uk has made a series of changes to the website for the use of businesses that sell products and services such as insurance, security and storage, camping equipment and repairs and services.

Relevant businesses looking to advertise their services on the website can use as much text as they choose and as many as five separate images, in addition to contact details and a link to their own website.

More than 200 companies have already decided to advertise on the site and these businesses are likely to benefit from the three million hits received by the site on a monthly basis, while casual browsers are also likely to explore owing to the website's high search engine ranking.

In other news, the Camping and Caravanning Club has cited "freedom and flexibility" as one of the reasons why camping and caravanning have proven so popular this year, as well as the lower costs associated with travel within the UK.

The organisation says it has seen a membership rise of nearly a quarter since 2008.
