The Lake District could become a favourite destination among caravan insurance policyholders in 2010.
According to Jon Dale, spokesperson for the Camping and Caravanning Club, the north-west destination is set to be a hot pick for caravanners next year, especially around holiday times.
Mr Dale commented that this year saw Scotland do particularly well in terms of its caravan tourism, while Devon and Cornwall tend to pick up during school holiday times.
"I can see the Lake District being particularly busy and the Peak District area as well is another area that is continuing to flourish and that's obviously growing," he forecast for 2010.
The caravanning expert went on to say that the Lake District area is busy all year round, especially during the Easter getaway and the August bank holiday.
Earlier findings by the club highlighted that more people may be joining caravan insurance policyholders across the country by signing up for news on taking trips at home.
This year to date, over 64,000 new members joined the club, marking a 24 per cent increase on last year's figures. Meanwhile, caravan occupancy rates increased by eight per cent year-on-year.
