A woman who left her home in Scotland to pick up a turkey for Christmas Dinner has been stranded in a caravan for 18 days because of the heavy snow.
Kay Ure, who set out on December 23rd to buy a turkey, failed to make it back to her the house in Durness she shares with husband.
Bracing the elements, Mrs Ure was forced to seek refuge with the turkey in a friend's caravan.
Just 11 miles from home, she still cannot make it home as a result of the strong winds battering the region.
Mobile home owners may be familiar with the potential for damage that such bracing winds can cause and invested in caravan insurance to guard against such possibilities.
It is likely Mrs Kay's friend is crossing their fingers the caravan will remain in one piece during the coldest winter Britain has seen for 30 years.
Mrs Kay told the Guardian she is fine and cannot comprehend all the fuss surrounding her predicament.
"Everyone seems to be interested in the turkey," she added.
The couple plans to celebrate Christmas when they are finally reunited.
