Caravanners in the London borough of Enfield may be letting the recent wintry conditions get to them as consumers have been rushing out to buy accessories for their mobile homes.
The Enfield Independent reports that buyers in the areas have been overcome with panic amid the snow and ice, with caravan-related goods selling out quickly.
Director at mobile home accessory store Outdoor Bits David Burley told the publication that motorhome batteries have been increasing in popularity among buyers after many of the energy sources may have failed during the winter.
He went on to say that caravan accessories have also rocketed in popularity as people look to take cheap breaks at home.
"We're probably up 25 to 30 per cent on sales over what we would expect for this time of year," Mr Burley commented.
Meanwhile, manager of neighbouring Tooled Up Ashley Reid said that accessories for getting through the snow and enjoying breaks outdoors have been selling well, such as folding shovels and heating equipment.
Caravan insurance policyholders hoping to take a winter break might want to avoid the roads for a few days, as the Met Office has warned that further heavy snow and wintry conditions are on the way.
