Caravan insurance policyholders hoping to attend this year's Shepton Mallet Show will have to wait a little longer as the event has been postponed.

Organisers have had to put the show on hold due to extreme weather conditions, with one organiser claiming there is "sheet ice everywhere".

The event brings together mobile home lovers and their vehicles every year and was set to take place between January 8th and 10th for its 14th year. However, considering the wintry conditions, the event has been delayed until April.

A statement from Stone Leisure reads: "Despite the best efforts of exhibitors and Stone Leisure, we have had to cancel as conditions on site are extremely difficult."

The organisers suggest interested parties check back for details at a later date but have indicated the event will run over April 9th, 10th and 11th.

Early indications had shown that attendance at the event was set to creep into record numbers, as visitors turn up to see the last mobile homes.

Caravan insurance policyholders who have bought their tickets are advised they can swap them for the forthcoming show, or exchange them for tickets to the Stratford or September Bath & West show.
