Caravan insurance policyholders hoping to take a break in Scotland will have greater choice in a few years' time after confirmation that a mobile home storage facility will be turned into a holiday park.
Grants (Craigmills) Caravans in Angus will redevelop its Strathmartine site over the coming years to house 28 static caravans, the Press and Journal reports.
Work at the storage facility is expected to commence shortly and is set for completion in 2013.
Some objections were raised to the proposals, including the level of noise that visiting caravan insurance policyholders and other holidaymakers could make. There were also some concerns that the site could become permanent residence for some people.
Planner David Queripel, speaking on behalf of Grants (Craigmills) Caravans, is cited as saying: "To allay concerns, we are happy for a further condition to be added, that the site is closed during the month of February each year for routine maintenance."
The publication reports the condition was added to the planning application and approved.
Meanwhile, a decision is due on whether or not a caravan park in Cleveland can be expanded to include an additional 15 static models.
