Motorhome insurance policyholders may find that a recent award sways them towards Fiat's Ducato model when it comes to investing in a new motorhome.

For the fourth year running, the motorcaravan has scooped the Base Vehicle title at the Which Motorcaravan Awards 2010.

Designed especially for the mobile home market, the vehicle base offers drivers a six-speed Comfort-Matic (automatic) transmission to make for more enjoyable motoring on holiday.

"With power aplenty and smooth shifts, the Comfort-Matic Ducato is just effortless. It puts you in the holiday spirit straight away," commented judge Peter Vaughan.

He added that the panel had no qualms about issuing the award to Fiat last year for its base and nothing has changed the judges' opinion for 2010.

Gerry Clarke, Director of Fiat Professional UK, stated: "The Ducato range keeps on proving it is first choice among motorcaravan users, and I'm pleased that these awards have again highlighted the advantages of the new Comfort-Matic gearbox."

Last year, judges commented the vehicle's transmission is clever in selecting the right gear and making the most of the vehicle's 3-litre engine, as well as offering the best assistance package for consumers who enjoy touring.
