An East Yorkshire mobile home retailer is seeing positive activity in the market after its sales rose for the first time in over a year,
Discover Leisure recently told shareholders sales of touring models had finally risen after 16 months of stagnant activity, the Yorkshire Post reports.
A restructuring deal saved the firm from collapse last year, allowing it to write off some debts and reduce its number of sites to five. Most recently, the company traded two sites in Warrington and Herne Bay.
Since measures were taken, the firm has made "good progress in creating a stable platform for growth", the publication reports.
Caravan insurance policyholders may be helping the firm get back on its feet as orders for its 2010 range have increased by 370 per cent.
Between now and the second quarter of 2010, "we expect trading to improve but to remain challenging", commented chairman David Morrow.
But he added that things are not so clear cut further into the future: "Looking ahead to the second half, the continuing economic uncertainties and the need to assess the market at Easter make it difficult to predict the group's results."
