The number of caravan insurance policyholders visiting the UK from abroad could be set to increase as a result of new campaign.
VisitBritain has launched an initiative with the backing of British Airways and easyJet, which aims to attract people from other European nations to holiday in the UK.
It is hoped that the country can come across as offering cost-effective breaks, with particular focus being placed on cities, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cardiff, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool and London.
The airlines will be providing cheap flights to the UK from 12 countries as part of the campaign, which could see visitors choose to stay in a caravan to make their break even most wallet-friendly.
Mary Rance, chief executive of travel trade association UKinbound, commented: "The inbound tourism industry makes a great contribution to the UK economy and UKinbound welcomes this initiative as a great opportunity to increase awareness and the profile of the UK as value for money destination for visitors from near European markets, especially given the current strength of the euro against sterling."
She added that the cities included in the campaign will encourage visitors to experience the UK's best tourism products.
