A number of mobile home owners may have had to make caravan insurance claims recently as reports have surfaced of break-ins at a site near Barry, Wales.
More than 28 caravans were targeted by thieves in recent attacks that took place between Sunday January 31st and February 1st, the Barry and Distric News reports.
During the incidents, thieves made off with a number of flat screen televisions.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward and have suggested the culprits may have had a car waiting at the end of a path from the site in which they made their getaway.
The incident highlights the need for a good caravan insurance policy to help protect against financial loss should such incidents occur.
"We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area of Porthkerry Leisure Park during the night of January 31st or from anyone who may have been offered a flat screen TV," commented Rhoose neighbourhood police constable Phil Davies.
In related news, the Bicester Advertiser has reported that two thefts were recently attempted of parked caravans. During the incidents, criminals tried to remove wheel clamps from the models.
