Police in Bicester, Oxfordshire, are urging mobile home owners to be vigilant for thieves following two attempted thefts in the area.

Two households may have had to make a caravan insurance claim for any damage done to their mobile homes when they became the targets of thieves recently.

According to the Bicester Advertiser, the most recent of the two incidents involved four white men who tried to take a caravan that was parked on a driveway in Quainton.

The incident took place in the afternoon and saw the males try to remove wheel clamps from the model. After being unsuccessful in their crime, the culprits - all aged in their 30s, drove away in a blue Ford Mondeo estate vehicle.

Previously, an incident had occurred on October 7th in Grendon Underwood where two men had tried the same trick.

Police have called for witnesses to the attempted crimes.

"We are also reminding residents to make sure they have sufficient security to ensure they do not become a victim of this type of crime," commented police community support officer Anthony Hurd

"To help reduce your risk of becoming a victim, please follow these simple tips, which will be of use for keeping your caravan secure."

Meanwhile, a number of flat screen TVs were recently stolen from a caravan park near Barry in Wales, the Barry and District News reports.
