Caravan insurance policyholders in Guernsey who use their mobile homes as stalls at events are to benefit from lower charges.
Application fees have been lowered from £125 to £42 per vehicle by the Environment Department, which hopes the reduction will be beneficial to charities using mobile homes at shows on the Channel island, the BBC reports.
Minister Peter Sirett revealed that since the charges were introduced last October, concerns had been raised regarding the specific levies faced by those wishing to place caravans on land.
Mr Sirett said that government had acted fast to respond to the queries by introducing the new amounts.
"I think it's probably the fastest piece of action we've ever involved in, but I'm pleased we were able to do that," he said, admitting that ministers should "put their hands up and put it right" when they make a mistake.
The island of Guernsey is actually geographically closer to France than it is to the UK and is a popular holiday destination, boasting accommodation to suit caravan insurance policyholders and hotel lovers alike.
Currently, caravans cannot be taken to the island from abroad, but trailer tents can.
