With more caravan insurance policyholders potentially being among those seeking a mobile home break in Wales, the region is set to take steps that will enhance its image.
The Denbighshire Visitor reports that the north of the country attracts 1.3 million holidaying visitors every year, adding that the region's caravan hire market is growing.
To foster further tourism in Wales, the country is set to focus on its strengths and invest in making its products of excellent quality, the publication suggests.
The proposals come after the publication of a report entitled Turning the Tide, which focused on tourism along a 15-mile stretch between Rhos-on-Sea and Prestatyn.
Research was carried out by marketing consultants The Tourism Company on behalf of Tourism Partnership North Wales, the Welsh Assembly and Conwy and Denbighshire county councils.
Findings suggested that the towns need rebranding to create a more positive image.
Areas such as Rhyl were found to be perceived as depressing and shabby.
"It will be an uphill struggle to attract new customers unless this image can be challenged and altered," the researchers commented.
Caravan insurance policyholders looking to find a more pleasant Welsh holiday destination might want to consider Home Farm Caravan Park on the Isle of Anglesey, which won the AA's Campsite of the Year Award for Wales recently.
