The Camping and Caravanning Club has revealed plans to redevelop its sites and bring its bases up to a benchmark standard.
Caravan insurance policyholders who enjoy visiting the club's sites could find that by 2015, all the areas meet a new standard of excellence, as the club is ploughing £29 million into its network over the next five years.
Over the last 18 months, the club has been conducting investigations into its sites and how they can be made better with the help of a set standard.
Work has already begun to develop eight sites, including Cannock Chase, Crowden, Hayfield, Oban and Scone, while the final touches are being put on the new site at Gulliver's Milton Keynes.
Sites director Bob Hill commented that as the club has seen growth in its pitch sales, extra demand has led to increased levels of wear and tear.
"At the same time, our members' expectations are greater than ever and that is why we want to continue to provide sites with first-class facilities which we can all be extremely proud of," he added.
The club recently announced it is joining forces with the Highways Agency to develop solutions for the UK's roads network.
