Vehicle manufacturer Land Rover has been showcasing its latest range of towing equipment at the Boat and Caravan Show in Birmingham.
Caravan insurance policyholders attending the event may have seen the firm's newest vehicles up front as well as being given demonstrations of how the towing apparatus works.
The firm's new Trailair development monitors tyre pressure and aids hitching, giving off an alarm if it detects any decrease in the wheels' pressure or increase in temperature.
Land Rover cites a study by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe carried out in 2008 as showing a 0.6 bar tyre under inflation can increase fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to six per cent and reduce tyre life by 40 per cent.
As well as helping warn drivers of tyre issues, the system includes a rear camera that enables the driver to manoeuvre the vehicle more precisely by offering a view of the hitching equipment and trailer tow ball.
Caravan insurance policyholders will be able to purchase the product from August at around £650.
Land Rover is also displaying its latest model, the Discovery 4, at the event after the model won two accolades at the Caravan Club's Towcar of the Year Awards 2010.
