Caravan insurance policyholders who usually take a break at Forest Holidays' campsites may find changes are afoot when they roll up for a holiday from next year.
It has been announced that the Camping and Caravanning Club is to manage the firm's campsites from 2011, which will also involve running operations such as reservations.
There are 20 Forest Holidays sites across the UK on Forestry Commission land and the club owns a majority stake in the business.
A decision was made following growth within the firm's campsite division alongside its cabin production business, which it plans to expand.
Camping and Caravanning Club director general Robert Louden commented: "We believe the time is now right for the club to manage the campsites, which will leave the Forest Holidays team free to concentrate on its rapidly expanding holiday cabin business."
Despite the changes, all the sites will retain their Forest Holidays identities.
Last month, following an 18-month research project, the club announced changes will take place within its own site network, outlining plans to invest £29 million over the next five years to bring all its sites up to a benchmark standard.
