Nissan wins commercial van award
Nissan's Primastar van has won the Best Medium Van award at the Commercial Fleet World Honours, reports the Transport News Network.
The awards are presented annually by the trade publication, and recognise excellence in a range of commercial vehicle categories.
The judging panel consisted of a range of industry professionals, including members of the trade paper's editorial staff, and was chaired by George Emmerson, a fleet manager with experience working for a range of high-profile companies.
The editor of Commercial Fleet World, John Kendall, said of the vehicle: "The revolutionary looks shook the panel van sector up and it still looks fresh and modern today.
"It was just as forward thinking on the inside, with great attention to drivers' needs in the cab."
Nissan claims the vehicle was designed to handle like a car, with Mr Kendall agreeing that the "driving position…is arguably more car-like than any of its rivals".
The news will be welcomed by the Nissan company as a positive endorsement of their products, particularly as much of the motor industry continues to struggle with rising commodity costs and unstable fuel prices.
Finding cheap UK van insurance is one other way of cutting costs.
