Britons who enjoy travelling to caravan parks for breaks at home could soon have greater choice as plans to expand a site in Lancashire look set to get the nod.

Fylde council could be poised to approve the addition of 30 extra mobile homes at Bank Lane Caravan Park in Warton, which currently has a capacity of 200.

The Lancashire Evening Post reports that the plans look set to be approved, despite some concerns being raised by local residents.

Bryning with Warton parish council suggested that problems could be caused in relation to overcrowding at the site and increasing congestion in the area.

In response, a report by Fylde council said there is enough space and density at the park to accommodate more caravans and legal heads have recommended that the plans be approved.

The park has also made another request, that licensing conditions are changed to allow for the site to open full time, meaning caravan insurance policyholders would not be restricted on when they could visit the park with their touring mobile homes.

Britons who are planning an Easter break with their caravan were recently advised by tyre retailer etyres.co.uk to check the vehicle's wheels have not been damaged by being in storage during the cold winter months.
