Caravan insurance policyholders looking for pet-friendly places to take their furry companions need to look no further than holiday parks in Skegness.

Findings by holiday destination guide Skegness Holiday Parks have shown that more than half of the sites questioned about their pet friendliness would allow dogs to holiday with their owners for a small fee.

According to the guide, many Britons are concerned about leaving their pets in kennels.

"You may have decided upon your holiday location and possibly the dates you intend going, but the thought of putting a pet into kennels for a week or two often leaves the owners anxious and wondering if they are ok, all through their holiday," the publication commented.

Its findings show that Southview Leisure Park, which offers facilities such as a heated indoor pool, gym, golf course and scenic lakes will accept dogs for £40 per week.

Meanwhile, Tattershall Park Country Club, which offers caravans complete with showers, microwaves and TVs, allows one pet at a weekly charge of £20.

Caravan insurance policyholders looking further afield than Skegness might want to log onto website DogsInvited.co.uk, which provides a list of dog-friendly holiday accommodation across the UK.
