Residents who have been expressing their concerns over a new caravan park will finally get some answers, reports the Northern Echo.

The newspaper revealed that a meeting has been called to discuss the proposed caravan park on the edge of the village of Sedgefield.

Although the meeting has been called by a group concerned about the introduction of the park, it is a public meeting and thus could well be attended by caravan insurance customers and caravan owners as well.

The newspaper indicated that the meeting will report information from Durham County Council and the Planning Inspectorate relating to a series of questions that the residents group had posed about the site.

Over 1,000 people have objected to the proposed site, which would comprise a 330-unit holiday park near Hardwick Hall.

Planning permission for the development was initially granted to Theakston Estates last February.

Forum chairwoman, Julia Bowles, said that the group had been working hard to get the answers to residents' questions ever since planning permission had been granted.

The forum will hold the special meeting in the Fletcher Room, Sedgefield Parish Hall on Wednesday, April 21st at 19:00.

Hardwick Hall is a luxury hotel in Durham, surrounded by Hardwick Country Park.
