Caravan insurance policyholders could be among the Britons increasingly considering staying at home for a vacation this year.
A recent study by Travelzoo has highlighted that 12 per cent of Britons are now more interested in taking a holiday in the UK since the disruption caused by the volcanic ash cloud in the skies.
Almost a quarter of respondents to the survey said their travel plans had been affected by the ash cloud, which resulted in many flights being delayed or cancelled because it was too dangerous to fly in the conditions.
Of those questioned, 15 per cent said they are now less likely to travel by aircraft, while those whose plans were affected by the ash were 56 per cent less likely to take a plane for a holiday than those who were not affected.
Those planning to stay at home for a break this coming bank holiday weekend could follow the lead of caravan insurance policyholders and rent a mobile home for a week to discover the wealth of opportunities the UK has to offer.
Park Holidays is urging consumers to take advantage of one its offers for Whitsun and choose to stay at a caravan park on the south costs from £129 for a short break.
