Keen caravanners are being given the chance to win a brand new Volkswagen California campervan from next Monday.

Caravan insurance policyholders could find themselves the proud owners of the model if they tune in to GMTV next week, from May 24th.

Volkswagen is giving the vehicle away to mark the Camping and Caravanning Club's New To Camping campaign and the caravan will be showcased on the ITV show.

Celebrity interior designer Anna Ryder Richardson will also appear to explore the benefits of camping and caravanning.

The California vehicle is designed for everyday use yet also offers the right environment for weekends away or holidays, as it offers all the mod cons of home.

Among its features are two double beds, a fridge, cooker, sink and electric pop-up roof.

Prices for the model start at £39,965 but the prize vehicle is fitted with accessories making it worth more than £43,000, including alloy wheels, a roll-out side awning and a tailgate bike rack.

Earlier this year the California scooped two accolades, one from Which Motorcaravan? for Best Multi-purpose Motorcaravan and the second from Motorcaravan Motorhome Monthly, which gave the California a highly commended award in the small motorhome/camper category.
