The importance of having caravan insurance to cover beloved mobile homes has been emphasised by a recent arson incident in Milton Keynes.
Graham Whittingham told the Milton Keynes Citizen that he awoke to shouting and banging on his front door one night recently.
When he got to his door, the mobile home owner found people had been trying to alert him to his burning caravan.
He told the publication: "The caravan went up like a bomb as it is one of the older ones made of fibreglass."
Fire crews attended the scene but by the time they got to the location the mobile home had already been completely gutted.
Mr Whittingham said he believes someone forced their way into the mobile home and threw something inside.
He described the incident as an act of "mindless vandalism" and called for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.
Ironically, he added, one of the only items from the camper to be unscathed by the blaze was a fire extinguisher.
Meanwhile, the Manchester Evening News recently reported that vandals caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to mobile homes at a caravan park in Oswaldtwistle, where two people were seen fleeing from the scene.
