Renault vans get update

Renault has announced that it has revised its two large vans, the Trafic and the Master, with significant alterations in design, optional additions and a new range of motors.

Renault says that it has fitted the new Trafic with a one-piece headlamp unit and a radiator grille at the front and new lamp units and footplate at the rear for a combination of practical and aesthetic purposes.

The Master has also been given a new, more robust radiator grille, while both vans have been given an interior upheaval with an optimal rearrangement of dashboard features. The Master has also been redesigned to allow for a greater amount of stowage space.

Yet Renault claims that the most important revisions to the vans are in their enhanced motors. The Trafic is now available with the 90hp and the 115hp versions of the 2.0 dCi motor, which Renault claims is "more powerful, responsive and fuel-efficient" than the old 1.9 dCi version.

Renault has also introduced a 2.5 dCi motor, which is derived from the old 2.2 dCi version and comes in 100hp and 120hp formats with the Master, replacing the old the 136hp 3.0 dCi with an engine it claims offers more power for less fuel consumption.

The new Trafic comes in two wheelbases and roof heights and in three body types. The updated Master also comes in three body types, but also with three wheelbases and roof heights.
