Family-owned business Bailey Caravans has revealed its success story as it continues to reap the rewards of its hard work.
In a piece about companies developed by families, the Financial Times reports that the firm is the second-biggest maker of touring caravans in the UK.
The company was bought by brothers Patrick and Stephen Howard in the 1970s and is now run by Stephen's sons Nick and Simon, continuing the family tradition.
"Making caravans is a lifestyle business where we find our customers are both very enthusiastic about the product and also very demanding," Nick Howard told the publication.
But the company's success at attracting caravan insurance policyholders and other consumers has potentially put Bailey in a position where it is able to fund developments that will aid its success in years to come.
In recent years, the firm has created a new caravan construction method whereby engineers use aluminium instead of timber, reducing manufacturing time while also giving the mobile homes better insulation.
Earlier this year, Bailey achieved positive results at the Boat and Caravan Show, securing orders worth £6.7 million compared with the £4.5 million it generated at the same event last year.
