The recent mini-heatwave is helping to boost business within the budget tourism industry, it has been revealed.
Caravan insurance policyholders may have been among the Britons recently making the most of the sunny climes by heading away for a break in a mobile home or a tent.
Denise Farmer, who manages camping and caravan site Hurst View Leisure in the New Forest, Hampshire, told the BBC that the site had recently been "manic at weekends", with business in June up by 200 per cent compared with the same month last year.
She went on to say that things usually quieten down after Whitsun but this has not been the case this year.
Usually, the site only opens one section during the month but has had to keep all three running in 2010 to cater for business demand.
"This is our best year," Ms Farmer added.
The Met office recently revealed that the UK has had the driest first six months of any year since 1929 during 2010.
According to forecasters, while the dry weather is set to continue, there is now an increased risk of rain in the north and west as well as the chance of thunderstorms.
