Citroen adds to Berlingo range

Citroen has extended its Berlingo range of vans with the addition of the new 2.0HDi 600 XTR+, in an effort to meet more effectively the diverse needs of van drivers.

Based on the original 2.0HDi 600, the XTR+ has been upgraded to offer an advanced limited-slip differential system, raised heavy-duty suspension and adjusted steering geometry, as well as a greater degree of underbody protection.

Citroen says it updated the initial 2.0HDi 600 to offer increased traction so as to meet the needs of customers in the public utilities, forestry and agricultural sectors, where there is great demand for light vans providing off-road capabilities at no greater operating cost.

Robert Handyside, Citroen's commercial vehicle operations manager, commented: "The latest XTR+ model significantly increases the appeal of the Berlingo range by opening up additional market sectors for our best-selling commercial vehicle range."

Key to the XTR+'s excellent off-road capacity is that it can automatically shift 75 per cent of the motor's torque to in between the front wheels, which have the greater grip than the rear.

The XTR+ is also enhanced for off-road driving by the raising of the vehicle by 40mm, with the aid of improved suspension and expanded wheels (up to 15 inches) that are also fitted Michelin Synchrone 4x4 tyres offering perfect grip for all terrains.
