Caravan insurance policyholders may be part of a trend which is driving the popularity of domestic holidays in Britain, according to thetravelmagazine.net.
The iknow-uk website has reported a 25 per cent increase in online traffic for July, with the total number of visitors standing at 1.25 million last month.
Thetravelmagazine.net's editor, Sharron Livingston, noted that holidays are seen as a necessity by many individuals, including caravan insurance policyholders.
"I think they can afford to go abroad but they are looking domestically as well. Last year there was a rise and I think it has just maintained itself. We've discovered Britain. I don't think it will change anytime soon," she explained.
Ms Livingston added that most people like to put aside something of a budget for a trip away, even if it is just a small amount for a holiday in or around the UK.
Her comments follow data released by tourism board VisitBritain, which forecast the value of tourism to the UK will rise to £188 billion over the next ten years, an increase of more than 60 per cent.
The amount contributed by home and overseas visitors currently stands at £115 billion a year.
