Caravan insurance policyholders who have taken the plunge and purchased a vehicle can rest assured that they have made an ecologically friendly choice, the editor of CaravanTimes.co.uk has stated.
Marcus Dubois pointed out that research from Lancaster University has found that taking a vacation in a caravan produces fewer emissions than travelling abroad for a holiday, so "green holidaymakers can take pride in their choice being the most eco-friendly".
The study revealed that two people staying overnight in a touring caravan produce about four kilos of carbon dioxide compared with taking a return flight to Spain, which generates almost 500kg of emissions.
Mr Dubois explained that caravan insurance customers also find other benefits when they purchase their vehicle.
"You save money as well - in that having one on the driveway is like a call to adventure for the family. As such, it tends to increase the number of holidays you can take every year," he said.
His comments come ahead of the Caravan Extravaganza 2010, which takes place on the weekend of September 4th.
Held at The Lawns in Cottingham, East Yorkshire, the event is sure to attract thousands of caravan insurance policyholders and other enthusiasts who want to see the new season's models.
