Caravanners should shop around to save spending money
Travellers looking to get the most for their money should shop around, as people are cutting back on their holiday spending to take more holidays each year according to the Post Office.
On average UK travellers took 1.4 trips away in 2006, reigning back their spending on each individual holiday to afford to get away more.
So caravanners looking to squeeze the budget to get in that extra trip should shop around to get the best quotes they can on their location, as well as that all important touring caravan insurance.
Kevin McAdam, head of travel and leisure at the Post Office, said: "Taking more holidays means your money has to go further so careful budgeting is essential.
"UK travellers can plan their holiday spending more effectively in a number of ways. For anyone travelling more than once per year, we recommend taking out an annual travel insurance policy, which can offer significant savings when compared to single trip policies," he added.
However, the research also suggests that not everyone is that good at sticking to a holiday budget, with 69 per cent of women staying under-budget as opposed to 59 per cent of men.
So, taking the initiative and planning your touring caravan insurance early may well help you stay under-budget and possibly save enough to fit in another trip later in the year.
