Van show selling out fast

Tickets for next year's vans show at the NEC in Birmingham are selling at an unprecedented rate, while van firms are similarly eager to exhibit there.

Although the show takes place next April, two thirds of the tickets for it have already been sold, ahead of the rate they were sold at for the last show, while the amount of displaying space firms have bought has also increased.

The event will herald yet another appearance for the Toyota-controlled Hino brand, which will be getting a larger stand, while locally-based LDV has confirmed it will be doubling the size of its display this year.

Reflecting on last year's show, Robin Dickeson from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders told the Birmingham Post: "Our exhibitors said the quality of visitors was up.

"This is not a consumer show and a lot of decision makers from the logistics and haulage industries were there. Exhibitors were making contact with people to forge long-term relationships."

Mr Dickeson added that the NEC was the ideal location for the show, as not only is it at the heart of the country, but it is also at the centre of the region between the M1 and the M6 where the majority of the UK's haulage and logistics firms are based.
