Motorists give loved ones a Valentine's Day KI55

Brits looking for their perfect Valentine's present could help their partner tell the nation just how wonderful they are - while they drive.

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) has launched a new range of license plates specifically for the occasion, starting with a 'KI55' combination, which are available to buy this week.

Amongst these cheeky number plates is a 'KI55 BLE' permutation for very embraceable motorists, or the racy 'KI55 TEL' for those who like to brag and 'KI55 XME', which needs no explanation.

Louise Pierpoint from the DVLA explained: "A lot of imagination goes in to choosing the perfect personalised registration for someone.

"Buyers tend to have an understanding of what the individual likes, what they do and what their hobbies are and so this tends to form the basis of their decision."

Other available combinations include 'MI55 EDU' for drivers who do not like to be apart from their lover and 'MY07 LUV' for those couples who think that this could be a very special year for them.

A report last autumn by yesinsurance.co.uk showed that Britain's motorists are becoming more and more attached to their cars and see them in increasingly personal terms, with one in six even going as far as naming theirs.
