Fylde Council to give go ahead to caravan site plan
Officials in Fylde are set to accept proposals to transform a car lot and office building into a caravan site, it has been reported.
According to Blackpool Today, the plans would extend the Westend motor home region which currently houses eleven vehicles by an additional five lots.
It may be that people living in the area find that the cost of caravan insurance increases due to the extra caravans, as some cover companies may consider the extra vehicles indicative of a larger threat.
Previously, objections had been made to the programme as it was considered negative to actively promote living in caravans in the region.
But Fylde planner Helen Hockenhull comments that a there are more advantages to the plan than disadvantages.
She said: "It is officers' view that on balance, the benefits of the scheme outweigh the harm to approved development plan policies for development in the countryside."
This comes as John Bunn, owner of West Sands Caravan Site on Mermerry Beach near Chichester, has paid out in order to improve the park's sea defences.
According to the Argus, Mr Bunn spent £1 million on strengthening the site's resistance to advancing shore lines.
