Pensioners 'evicted from caravan site'
An investigation is to be carried out into the alleged eviction of pensioners from a caravan site in Scotland, it has been reported.
The Perthshire Advertiser states that the inquiry into the matter will begin on Monday February 18th at 13:30 GMT at the Chief Hotel in East High Street, Perthshire.
According to the news source, retired residents living in the Mill House Caravan Park in South Bridgend were issued notices by council bosses looking to turn the site into residential accommodation.
If the area is to be switched from a motor home park, it may be that the reduced number of vehicles results in cheaper caravan insurance as cover firms may view the region to be less of a risk.
Roseanna Cunningham, Perth MSP, has outlined her intentions for when the inquiry begins.
She said: "The most important thing for me is to ensure that the people caught up in the middle of all of this do not end up any worse off than they are now."
Meanwhile, a proposed revamp of South End Caravan Park in Barrow could see the number of static pitches at the site increased by 80 to 173.
