Council bins are 'rubbish'
The bins situation as managed by Rother District Council is rubbish, according to local residents.
A Worthing Herald report states that local business owner Ron Smith has trashed authorities' lack of expertise in the area.
The problem may have an effect on nearby Normans Bay Caravan Park as it could drive customers away.
However, it may be that fewer visitors results in lower caravan insurance costs if cover companies consider the lack of motor homes indicative of a smaller risk.
Mr Smith commented that nobody in the area has received the right bins for their garden rubbish and, despite repeated phone calls, the council seems to refuse to issue them, it added.
"I have phoned Rother District Council loads of times because I have never had a green recycling box for my flat," he said.
But a spokesman for the council has remarked that plans are in motion to remedy the issue.
"Unfortunately we underestimated demand for this service but will be rolling out a second phase of green bins in time for Easter," said the representative.
Rother is a district of south-east England and is the region in which the Battle of Hastings took place.
