Caravan park later license bid 'has angered locals'

A caravan site's park to attain a late night entertainments license has been opposed by local residents, it has been reported.

Journal Live comments that people living close to Budle Bay Camp and Caravan site should not be granted the right to serve alcohol all night long.

Indeed, it may be that any increase in activity in the early hours could have an impact on caravan insurance policies in the region.

This is because some motor home cover companies could consider this to be more of a risk to vehicles parked close by.

Now, the 33 people in the Warren Mill area of Berwick Borough would like to see a limit imposed like that which was agreed with the park's former boss.

"We were quite happy with the previous arrangements with the previous owner who had two or three events during the summer season" commented Vic Stead, joint secretary of Warren Mill Residents' Association.

Warren Mill is a hamlet of Northumberland known for its farms and fishing.

The borough of Berwick-upon-Tweed is the 351st most populous area of the UK.
